MS Ramaiah Medical College
The Ramaiah Medical College (RMC) was established in 1979 by Gokula Education Foundation (Medical), a charitable trust with the vision of providing quality medical education to all. The College is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka and is recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
To meet the need of training the next generation of doctors, the Ramaiah Medical College Hospital (RMCH) was set up on the campus in 1984. The Hospital accommodates 1,331 beds and offers all super specialties. The institute is well-equipped with the latest infrastructure, technology-enabled classrooms and advanced laboratories, and continually focuses on teaching, clinical practice, and research.
The college offers degrees in MBBS, MD and MS in all specialties, DM and MCH in the super specialties, PG Diploma and Ph.D courses as well as Bachelors (BPT), Masters (MPT) and Ph.D in Physiotherapy.
MODE OF EXAMINATION
Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) course is the duration of 5.5 years, which include 4.5 years of curriculum plus 1 year of rotating internship. offered by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore and approved by Medical Council of India. Govt. Quota fees 77,000/- Per year (INR).
This programme covers all preclinical, para-clinical and clinical disciplines through theory classes and clinical training as mandated by the MCI guidelines.
The students are taught through lectures, tutorials, and training at the Hospital. The college focuses on integrated learning for students to understand the role of each discipline in diagnosis and treatment.

Selection is based on the rank obtained in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) conducted on an all India basis by the Central Board of Secondary Education. Additionally, each candidate has to also satisfy the below criteria to be eligible for admission.
- Candidate should have passed 12th standard, should have obtained 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (taken together) and should have passed English as one of the subjects.
- The candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.

Advanced Learning Center: The Advanced Learning Center (ALC) is a one-of-a-kind initiative that complements conventional bedside teaching by bringing practice-based learning to the fore. It is accessed by students, faculty and the nursing staff alike. The ALC focuses on hands-on training and workshops where students are taught Basic & Advanced Surgical Skills
Medical Skills Lab: Postgraduates, undergraduates and nursing students are taught the basics of surgery, Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and other skills, through mannequins, models and simulation techniques.
Cadaveric Research and Training: This lab prepares and hosts cadavers that act as ‘near-life’ specimen. This helps postgraduate and medical professionals hone and advance their skills.
Central Library: Spread across 46,000 square feet, the Central Library at the Ramaiah Medical College is a repository of books, bound volumes and periodicals, accessible to students, residents and staff. The library is maintained well and regularly enriches its collection in order to allow users full access to current research tools and technologies.
The museum houses 5 primary departments and has year-round designated areas for each. The display for each of these departments includes specimens, charts, educational articles, etc. All other departments have display access at the museum on a rotational basis to showcase interesting case studies.
